Gynecomastia is a medical condition caused by an imbalance of estrogen and testosterone, leading to breast tissue development in males. It can occur at any age and may result from hormonal changes, obesity, genetics, certain medications, or underlying health conditions.
Although it is not usually dangerous, gynecomastia can cause significant emotional distress, especially in young men and adolescents. When lifestyle changes and medications don’t help, surgery becomes a viable and long-lasting solution.
