Section 80g gives the tax benefits whereby the donors are entitled to deductions on donations to charitable organizations that are eligible. The advantages are to minimize the taxable income, promote philanthropy, advance social causes and increase the credibility of charities. The deduction that donors can usually take is 50 percent or 100 percent based on the organization.
