Section 80g of the income tax act provides for an exemption where the individual may deduct from his donation to a charitable ngo, trust, or relief fund. Depending on the kind of organization that the individual donates to, the deduction can be either 50% or 100% of the donation, provided there is a limit in terms of gross income.
